Armchair Hero current research interests lay within the deconstruction of the board riding sports culture, and locating the many sources of inspiration involved with constantly push new frontiers. From the 'Do it yourself PUNK agenda' to the multi million dollar brands. My work explores the combination of both new and traditional media platforms while referencing the visual language of mass-produced popular extreme sport culture. Working on a series of experimental works, which I explore the aesthetic qualities of some of the visual elements in a purely abstract way, creating images using a full range of tools and media including the pre-digitalisation methods. All processes reflect to two main styles 'Punk vs $', translation 'Soul vs Hero'. I am based in England and currently working on long-term, self-initiated projects, as well as commissions for international clients. In the last year I have collaborated with mix media artists to produce print / gallery projects in New Zealand , Australia, Amsterdam and the UK.
